Global tech giant Samsung has recently announced the launch of their innovative Odyssey G7 Curved Gaming Monitor. The monitor is a smaller version of the previous models in their Odyssey lineup and comes in two different sizes: a 27-inch display and a 32-inch display.
Display and connectivity
The new G7 model is the world’s first curved gaming monitor with a curvature of 1000R for elevated gaming immersion. The monitor also has a response time of 1ms, a refresh rate of 240hz and a QLED display with a Wide Quad-High Definition resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. The monitor also has an HDR 600 certification, a peak display luminance of 600 nits and support for the FreeSync Premium Pro by AMD and Nvidia’s G-Sync for dynamic gameplay. Connectivity-wise, the monitor has an HDMI 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 downlink ports, a USB 3.0 uplink port and a headphone jack.
In order for gamers to experience accurate colour representation and sharp graphics, the monitor is also designed with quantum dot technology and an aspect ratio of 16:9.
The tech industry’s leading international certification organisation, TÜV Rheinland, has certified the performance of the G7 monitor’s revolutionary new 1000R (1000mm curved radius) display with their ‘Eye Comfort’ certificate. The ‘Eye Comfort’ certificate is based on the monitor’s ability to eliminate distracting reflections, adjust blue light levels, safeguard image quality from various perspectives and make sure it is flicker-free. With the G7’s innovative display features, gamers can benefit from reduced headaches, eye strain, blurred vision and neck, shoulder and back pain.
The matt black rear of the monitor is designed with the brand’s famous ‘infinity core lighting’ system, an orb-like design that lights up and changes colour. The orb can be set to ‘static mode’ during gaming and has 5 different lighting effects and 52 colour options.
The Odyssey G7 Curved Gaming Monitor can now be ordered on Amazon and prices begin at £550 for the 27-inch display and £630 for the 32-inch display.
